The color palette, which includes gold and red tones, symbolizes the fire and energy of love that burns between the sun and the girl. All this together conveys the deep feelings and atmosphere of a Russian fairy tale.
Long ago, in ancient times, there was a girl who loved the Sun more than her life. Every morning
she climbed the high hill near her house and stretched her arms into the sky, hoping
to embracethe rising Sun. Hello, my favourite Sun! - she shouted with delight and laughed joyfully, like a bride who had received the first kiss from her groom. All day long she looked
at the Sun and smiled at something, but when sunset came, the girl became so unhappy,
as if she had lost her Love forever. One day, the sky was covered with clouds and a dank dampness prevailed all over the land. The girl withered as from a disease and suffocated
with grief and longing, not seeing her beloved luminary. Finally, she could not resist and went
to see the sunrise. She walked for a long time, and now she came to the very edge of the earth, to the shore of the Sea-Ocean, to the dwelling of the Sun itself. The wind, responding to her pleas, dispersed all the clouds and clouds, and a dazzling luminary appeared in the blue sky.
The girl looked up and saw a golden rook
flying behind the golden swans. Standing
in the winged rook was her lover, an unseen handsome man. Looking at his shining, beloved face, she cried out loudly and fell to the ground: her heart could not bear the happiness and burst. Yarilo the Sun could not stop, but it stopped for a moment and cast its hot gaze
on the fallen girl. Sure enough, Yarilo recognised this girl he had seen so often on earth. "Will I never meet her again?" - thought Yarilo the Sun - No! I cannot live without her joyful countenance always turned towards me! Yarilo asked his elder friend Veles for help, and he promised to think
of something. Veles did not think for long,
and already the next morning a beautiful flower was looking towards Yarilo the Sun, smiling.
The flower's head turns all day long with love
and tenderness and looks after the Sun's warmth and light. The flower was named Sun Flower
or Sunflower!.
